The Invitation Into My Head

It's been some time since I've used this blog, and I think I've figured out what I'd like to use it for. And so, bu-bye old posts...

Some may call this a bit of a Soapbox, but I think people typically YELL from a soapbox, and all-caps typically isn't my style. And now that I mention it, Soapbox and all-caps may become part of my list for future posts (together or separately), as they fall in line with what I plan to do with this.

"So what DO you plan to do with this?"

Oh right. Let's see... how best to put this... I have a very analytical mind, and find myself constantly thinking about and analyzing things, people, and situations around me. Perhaps some of my thoughts deserve to be in a stand-up comedy sketch. But I'm not a stand-up comedian, well not yet, anyway.

I'm finding that some, and possibly many, people enjoy hearing and seeing some of the words that spew from my mouth. It appears to entertain them(*) in a number of ways. Some like to laugh AT me and my sometimes odd way of thinking. Others like to laugh WITH me, especially those that appear to be mature enough to actually GET me. Yet others watch from afar as I say something that may be a bit confrontational, that others are already thinking but not brave enough---or stupid enough, depending on perspective--- to actually say; and like to watch me thrust that shovel into the ground, to see how deep I may dig that hole, and how or whether I can actually climb my way back out of it.

[ * - And by saying, "them", of course, I mean "you". You are here, after all.]

As we engage "out there", in whatever activity we happen to be doing, the part of my personality that I choose to let you see, adjusts depending on my context. What I say and how I act in one venue, may be very different from what people experience in another. My mind is always working in the background, and what you see here is exactly that. Some of you will know this part of me very well; others may be in for a bit of a surprise. In any case, here it is. Curse or gift, you decide.

And so this is the purpose for the renaissance of this blog: to share many of those thoughts with anyone who wishes to read it... And to provide some bit of entertainment - both for me to write it, and for you to read it.

Feel free to laugh---WITH me, AT me, or even FOR me if I seem to not be laughing. Feel free to comment with whatever you like - agree, spin, or challenge, as you wish... I like it all. I fully accept any and all consequences for anything that I say; however, you must also do the same.

And above all, those that know me best can attest to this: I absolutely LOVE a good debate, on almost ANY topic. It's unfortunate that so few people are actually able to "debate" without misinterpreting it as an "argument", or without taking the "conversation" personally. In fact, I think I've just hit on my first real topic for this blog... let me get right on that.
